Salmon Treats

1 -- 14.5 oz can of salmon

½ cup ricotta cheese

1 egg

1 ½ cup whole wheat flour

¼ cup oat or wheat bran

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350°

Place salmon into food processor, add ricotta cheese, egg, and mix to a mousse like consistency. Add flour, bran, cheddar, and mix into a soft sticky dough. Place dough on 13 ¼ x 9 ¼ baking sheet, either cover with non-stick foil or grease, punch flat to pan’s edges. Bake for approx 40 minutes until golden brown, when cool cut into treat size pieces and place in a airtight container.

Garlic Cookies

1 ½ cups whole wheat flour

4-6 cloves of garlic or 1 tablespoon pre-chopped

¼ cup water

2 tablespoons sunflower seeds or walnuts

2 tablespoons safflower oil

1 egg

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garlic Powder

Preheat oven 400°

Place all ingredients into a food processor and mix until a dough forms. Place dough on a lightly floured surface, kneed some flour into dough to make it less sticky and easy to roll. Roll out until ¼ thick and sprinkle with garlic powder. Place on greased cookie sheet, cut into small or large (you can decide on size) pieces, and prick each square with a fork, pressing hard enough for tines to penetrate all the way through the dough. Bake for approx 30 minutes or until the tops are brown ( if you would like crispier treats allow to cool in the oven). Store at room temperature in a loosely covered container.

Bacon/Cheese Muffins

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

1 egg

¼ cup honey or molasses

3 tablespoons oil

¾ cup cheddar cheese, shredded

¼ cup cooked bacon (six slices), drained and crumbled

Preheat oven to 400° /Line mini-muffin tin with paper cups or spray with oil.

In a bowl mix flours, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the middle of this mix. In another bowl beat egg and add honey/molasses, oil, and stir. Pour into well you made in the other mix and fold until combined. Gently stir in bacon and cheese. Fill mini-muffins about ¾ full and bake for approx 15 minutes until tops are brown and toothpick comes out clean. Store in refrigerator in airtight container.
